Vorstrom Manufacturing Operations Platform
A secure on-prem operations platform that replaced printed design packs, paper QA, and manual record retrieval across Vorstrom’s vacuum truck and tanker manufacturing workflow.

Public exposure
The system is not publicly accessible. Tablets only work when connected inside Vorstrom’s premises.
Record retrieval
Design packs and QA history can be searched immediately instead of taking hours to locate physically.
Bay-assigned tablets showing the latest designs on the factory floor
In-app markup and issue escalation instead of handwritten paper feedback
Searchable QA and design history without physical archives
Each project here is framed around the operational or product shift it created, not just the tooling behind it.
The Challenge
Vorstrom builds industrial vacuum trucks and tankers, but key design, build, and QA workflows were still paper-based. Teams printed designs, specs, and QA sheets for use on the factory floor. When an issue was found, staff had to take paper back to a supervisor or designer, wait for amendments, then print updated copies again. QA records were also printed and archived physically, which made retrieval slow and frustrating whenever someone needed to trace a past check or locate an old design pack.
Our Solution
We built a secure digital operations platform with three core parts: • an on-prem backend that manages new projects, design documents, images, required tests, and bay assignments • a web dashboard for managers to review issues, manage projects and worker orders, and monitor QA activity • a mobile app for factory-floor teams to view assigned designs, annotate problems directly on drawings, and complete QA digitally Instead of relying on paper packs, teams now access current project information through the app. If a design or specification issue is found, employees can annotate it in context and send it straight to management. Managers review changes through the dashboard, coordinate amendments, and keep projects moving without reprinting documents every time something changes.
Outcome
Vorstrom moved from a print-heavy workflow to a digital, searchable manufacturing system. Design reviews are faster, QA is easier to track, and managers can find design or inspection records instantly instead of searching through paper archives. The platform also keeps sensitive operational data private by running entirely on-premises, with mobile devices working only when connected within Vorstrom’s facility.
