Each project here is framed around the operational or product shift it created, not just the tooling behind it.

01

The Challenge

Many spelling apps for younger learners are either too distracting, too dependent on internet access, or too cluttered with ads and upsells to be trusted by parents and educators. The goal here was to create something simpler and more useful: a focused spelling tool that children could use repeatedly in classrooms and at home, with accessibility support built into the experience rather than added as an afterthought.

02

Our Solution

We built Spell The Word as an offline, ad-free educational app that helps children practise spelling through repetition, voice guidance, and age-appropriate progression. The interface uses custom keyboard layouts and child-friendly visual design to reduce friction for younger learners. Accessibility and offline support were treated as core product requirements, which made the app more practical for schools, parents, and children who need a reliable learning tool anywhere.

03

Outcome

Spell The Word became a strong niche education product, reaching more than 80,000 downloads, a 4.8-star rating, adoption across 200+ primary schools, and average sessions of 25 minutes. Those metrics matter because they show both trust and repeated use. The app was not just downloaded by parents. It was also usable enough for educators to integrate into real learning environments.

Children can practise spelling without ads interrupting the learning flow
Offline support makes the app usable in more classrooms and home environments
Voice prompts help younger learners work more independently
Custom input design reduces friction for children still developing typing confidence
Parents and teachers get a more trustworthy educational tool than generic freemium apps
The product supports repeated literacy practice instead of one-off novelty use
